William Paull is a Co-Founder and Account Director of Consolidated Insurance Brokers, with more than 20 years of experience in the Australian insurance industry.
William has a particular passion for commercial building insurance and helping commercial property owners properly protect one of their most valuable assets.
Since entering the insurance industry in 2002, William has reviewed thousands of commercial insurance policies and negotiated insurance terms with Australian insurers and underwriters across a wide range of businesses, commercial properties and building risks.
His experience has taught him that arranging good commercial building insurance is about much more than finding a competitive premium. The policy wording, sum insured, sublimits, exclusions, endorsements and the way a risk is presented to insurers can materially affect both the protection a property owner receives and what happens when a claim occurs.
William focuses on helping clients understand what they are actually insured for, where coverage gaps may exist, and how different insurer wordings, exclusions, limits and endorsements can affect the outcome of a claim.
His areas of experience include commercial building insurance, commercial property insurance, business insurance, liability insurance and risk protection for Australian businesses and property owners.

Commercial building insurance is a particular area of interest for William. Over more than two decades in insurance, he has seen how apparently similar commercial building policies can provide materially different protection.
Price matters, but William believes property owners should understand what they are receiving for that price. This means looking beyond the premium and considering matters such as the adequacy of the building sum insured, policy definitions, sublimits, exclusions, endorsements, catastrophe exposures and other conditions that may affect how the policy responds.
William's approach is to help commercial property owners understand these differences so they can make an informed decision about the protection they purchase.
