Daniel started in insurance as a sole trader in regional Queensland, and later spent around eight years living in Emerald, out on farm properties with clients rather than reading about them.

What Eight Years in the Country Taught Him
Visiting a farm changes the insurance conversation, because the things that decide a claim are usually visible on the property and almost never visible on a form.
Daniel spent years doing exactly that, and it is why he looks at a whole farm or a whole business as one risk rather than as a list of separate policies that happen to share an owner.
Sums Insured Are Where It Is Won or Lost
Daniel pays particular attention to whether a building sum insured still reflects what rebuilding would actually cost today.
He has seen total-loss claims where the building was properly insured and the client was made whole, and he has seen claims where underinsurance materially changed the outcome. The difference between those two was decided long before anything went wrong.
